Cáel’s hunt for his heart has thus far yielded no results.  When he spies an unescorted young woman riding he’s at first amused.  He admires her audacity at challenging the pack of wolves closing in on her even though he knows it’s foolhardy.  Protecting this young woman is utmost in his mind as he shifts into the form of a snow dragon and scares off the beasts hoping to make a meal of the lass.  At first Marija fears that he means to make a meal of her himself but she quickly comes to trust him and after confiding her situation he asks her several questions… one of which is “do you wish my help?”  Her answer is “yes.”  She never dreamed how beneficial those words would be to her future until years later. 

 

Marija’s mother has had years to poison her mind against men and any possible match her father might consider.  Can Cáel win her trust and teach her how wonderful loving could be… maybe even win her love before it’s too late?

 

Paula Calloway delivers an unexpectedly enchanting story with her book A HEART’S CHANCE.  From the first page readers are pulled into the storyline and each scene brings forth a myriad of emotions along with a sense of wonder.  Ms. Calloway brings each character to life in startling clarity so that you’re able to comprehend their point of view and empathize with them.  One of the things I especially enjoyed about this story was how Cáel sets out to court Marija rather than attempt to force a union.  There’s something so sweet and hopeful about him that he just won me over.  If you enjoy unique paranormal tales that leave you with a feeling of hopefulness then this one is for you.
