Jakeb’s appearance out of the thicket doesn’t intimidate Kaitlyn’s master or her potential buyer.  However, he really gets their attention when he informs the men that he’ll be taking the girl with him and then tells them his name.  Jakeb’s a legendary enforcer and he abhors slavery so for Tanasitea, Kaitlyn’s master this is definitely a cause for concern.  He pays a small fortune for her and then leads her off into the thicket.  Jakeb has the perfect way for her to ‘reward’ him for saving her.  He wants her to provide him with the requisite heir and then he’d set her free.  What he can’t figure out is why something about her pulls him to her in such an elemental way.  According to legend only the scent of his bond-mate’s lust can cause a were-panther to lose control and shift involuntarily so why is Kaitlyn having such an effect on him?   Jakeb’s in for the shock of his life because Kaitlyn is far more perfect for him then he could have ever dreamed. 

 

MATING DANCE is the second installment in Anne Kane’s SHIFTING PRIORITIES series.   The Imperial were-panthers are so honorable and ‘alpha’ that I fell in love with these stories right away but Jakeb’s frustration in this book really won me over.  Jakeb and Kaitlyn don’t meet under the best circumstances and with someone out to kill one or both of them the emotional element is definitely amped up.  What is fascinating about MATING DANCE is Jakeb’s confusion over his possessive instincts towards Kaitlyn and his refusal to accept what should be obvious because of his preconceived thoughts on mating.  SHIFTING PRIORITIES is a fun imaginative series with plenty of romance and kick-butt action to ensure readers keep coming back for more.
