Interview

Hi Trish and welcome. I am so glad you could join us here at RomanceJunkies. To start, will you please tell us a little bit about your current projects?

Thank you so much for inviting me, and I’m delighted to be here too. My first novel, WHEN I REMEMBER LOVE, reads like an all-access backstage pass into the exciting world of a fictitious pop star, who comes to life in the pages of the book. This is meant to be a classic love story that’s as passionate and erotic as it is pure and tender. Aidan Price, a handsome multi-talented entertainer, meets his agent’s niece, the beautiful golden-hearted Jenna Holden. They fall instantaneously and madly in love. They marry quickly and begin an emotional roller coaster ride that will take you to the pinnacle of their love story and then pull you down into the depths of life's tragedies. You will experience what it’s like to live as a superstar celebrity within the music industry and how Jenna brings a sense of normalcy into Aidan’s hectic lifestyle. Their trust, intimacy, loyalty, deep abiding friendship and commitment are awe inspiring. What is the secret to their incredible relationship? I think you'll have to read this voyeuristic novel to find out.

When do you feel like you are the most creative, or does it matter?  Do you outline first, or write “by the seat of your pants”?

This story came to me in a dream as I was sleeping and I wrote it basically “by the seat of my pants”. I did write down a few notes when I woke up just to retain information regarding the dream, but by no means did I compose an outline. I feel creative and like to write at night, but it really doesn’t seem to matter when I write.

Have you ever experienced the dreaded writer's block, and if so how did you conquer it?

Yes, I experienced writer’s block many times. To conquer it, I would lie in bed while my central characters told me their story. Sometimes it took me weeks to type a chapter. Jenna and Aidan, in essence, channeled their love through my creativity. I wish they could type!

What is the best thing about being a writer?  What is the least best thing?

The best thing about being a writer is the freedom to express my thoughts on paper and being proud of my accomplishments. The downside of being a writer is the seclusion, isolation and loneliness.

When finishing a project, are you ready to move on to the next one, or do you take a bit of breather first?

My novel is a series, and therefore, I have already been writing the sequel, PRICE OF LOVE. However, I have recently taken a break to promote my first book, WHEN I REMEMBER LOVE.

What do you like to do in your spare time…assuming you have some?  Do you have any special collections or hobbies?

I love to play poker with my monthly poker group and enjoy other card games. Recently, I have been playing Shanghai Rummy with my 92 year old friend. She’s as sharp as a tack and I love her companionship. I’m an avid gardener or I was until I fell into my rose garden…ouch!!

Imagine that you are stranded on a deserted island for a month. What three things would you miss the most? What three things would you enjoy so much that you would want to remain stranded for another month?

I’d miss my computer, friends, and family. The three things I would enjoy would be, no stress, the cleansing of my body, mind, and spirit and not driving in rush hour freeway traffic (I live in LA).

If you could change one room in your home, which one would it be?

I would make my formal living room into another family room. No one ever sits in that room. It’s just wasted space.

How did you and your husband meet?  For you guys, what is the key to a successful marriage?

We met through mutual friends in Los Angeles. Both of us were from the Midwest. We have similar values. The key to our long relationship is friendship, trust and intimacy.

How do you describe Trish Silver?  How does Trish Silver’s husband describe her?

Trish is a lot of fun and a loyal friend. She’s filled with passion and intense emotion. Trish’s husband, Ed, would call her his entertainment!

MORE FUN…

Who is the person who has had the biggest influence on your life? Whom will you pass this “influence” on to?

The person who had the biggest influence in my life was my Grandma Mussy. She loved me unconditionally and made me the best French Fries. I will pass on her kindness and generosity to my grandchildren, Sarah and Jack.

Which is best:  white chocolate, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate?

Milk Chocolate is yummy!

If you could have a maid for a day or day at the spa, which would you choose and why?

I would definitely choose a maid, because I like a clean house and I’m lazy.

What is your favorite piece of jewelry?

My pave set diamond heart necklace that my dear husband bought me years ago. I never take it off.

And lastly, no interview of a writer would be complete without this question:  what is your favorite comfort food?

Home made chocolate chip cookies. I love the dough, too.

Thank you, Trish, for spending time with us at RJ—it has been fun!  Continued success with your writing.
