Interview

Hi CR, and welcome. I am so glad you could join us here at RomanceJunkies. To start, will you please tell us a little bit about your current projects?

I am currently working on two stories.  One is for eXtasy Books and is for the Tarot series, a paranormal journey based off the Wheel of Fortune card.  The other is for Devine Destinies and is called POSTPONING ETERNITY, which is the first book in the Si’Ludo Prophesy series.

When you first start a new project, what is it that sets the wheels in motion?  Naming your characters; drafting an outline; or just getting down to the business of telling the story?

This depends upon how much my muse gives me at the start.  If I have the full story, I’ll draft the outline.  If not, then I just get down to the business of telling the story and seeing how it goes.

After booting up your computer to begin a day of work, what is the very first thing you do?

I check my email.

When you sold your first book, who was the first person you told?  How did you celebrate?

I told my husband.  I planned a spa day with a friend.

Have you ever lost a scene or manuscript due to a computer crash, virus, or other calamity?

Yes.  It was the ending of CONCEALED AFFAIRS and luckily it was only a chapter and a half that I lost.  It was easy to recreate since it was fresh in my mind.  After that mishap, I constantly back up everything I do to our server and the server is backed up on a regular basis via tape and disc.

If you could go anywhere you wanted, no worries about packing or getting there, where would you go?  Have you been there before?

Australia.  I haven’t been there yet.

Woo Hoo!  You step outside and find an envelope with your name on it, and inside is $5,000!  How are you going to spend it?

I’d use part of it to go on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera and the rest I’d put toward paying off my student loan.

Do you have any favorite hobbies or collections?  What is the one project you started but have never found the time to finish?

We collect shot glasses from the places we visit.  As for an unfinished project, currently it’s a blanket I started crocheting last year, put away at the beginning of this year and haven’t touched since.

How did you and your husband meet?  What was it about him that made you know he was “the one”?

We met in eighth grade.  We were friends up through our senior year of high school till we went our separate ways.  He had even asked me out and I had turned him down since I was dating someone else at the time.  Almost five years after we graduated we met up again.  I had been waiting for a friend in the bar area of a restaurant when some guy walked up and asked if I was who he thought I was. I didn’t recognize him at first but once I remembered who he was we exchanged phone numbers.  We went out the next night and we’ve been together ever since.  I knew he was “the one” because we were friends before we were romantic, we knew our pasts so we didn’t have to explain ourselves to each other, and I knew he liked me for me.

How do you describe CR Moss?  How does CR Moss’s husband describe her?

Me: intelligent, loyal, trustworthy, funny.  Husband: stubborn/determined, loving, willing to go the extra mile for friends and family

MORE FUN…

Who is the person who has had the biggest influence on your life?  Whom will you pass this “influence” on to?

’m going to answer this from a writing perspective and say Stephen King and Anne Rice.  Their styles of writing and how they can weave tales are remarkable.  I try to emulate this in my own work and assist my writer friend’s in achieving this balance as well.

What is the one appliance CR Moss cannot live without?  The one she will defend its worth to one and all?

The microwave!

Sneaky me!  Sneaky me!  I’m gonna peek into your refrigerator!  What am I gonna find?  Anything that is unrecognizable?  Anything that would poison me if I were to sample it?

Let’s see… you’ll find some beer, premade food so we can grab and go during the week, the basic staples and I don’t believe anything would harm you.  I keep on top of any possible science projects.  Lol!

What is the one article of clothing in your closet that should have been pitched ages ago, but you will always, always keep?

My suede jacket with the fringe and silver studs bought in the late 80’s.

And lastly, no interview of a writer would be complete without this

question:  what is your favorite comfort food?

Potato… actually anything made from a potato.

Oh, I love potatoes, too!  They are wonderful!  Thank you so much, CR, for spending  time with us.  Good luck with your writing in the future.
