Lily adores Julian. He has been a good friend to her since Leo’s death and he is the only person who treats her normally, despite her deafness. She cannot imagine losing him from her life too. Julian wants her to marry but Lily only has one husband in mind and he seems determined to ignore the chemistry between them. He cannot keep her respectable or happy, despite what she believes. But Lily wants three nights to prove to Julian that they are perfect for each other. She also wants to protect him from his dangerous pursuits. But with Leo’s killers still running free, will Julian ever be able to let the past go, let Leo be at rest while Julian finally finds his own happiness?
THREE NIGHTS WITH A SCOUNDREL is the final book in Tessa Dare’s Stud Club series and finally answers the question of what happened to Leo Chatwick. More importantly, it explores the relationship between Julian and Lily that has been built up in the previous two stories. Julian has so many doubts about his worth but all Lily sees is a man who is kind, takes care of her and makes her laugh. He is not her dream man but he is a man who has been a great friend and who makes her believe in love and her dreams again. They come from very different worlds, Lily from the privileged world of the aristocracy, and Julian from the streets of London. They do not have an easy alliance but it is one filled with love and longing for something wonderful together. Will these two finally find peace together?
THREE NIGHTS WITH A SCOUNDREL is a fabulous and romantic ending to this series. Readers will get more out of this story if they have read the first two in the Stud Club series because the buildup to Julian and Lily’s relationship is so strong and finally climaxes in this book. I love the heartrending quality of this story. Tessa Dare is immensely talented!
