While auditioning gentlemen for the role of her husband, Margaret “Meg” Peterson finds herself attacked in a most improper way.  Who would have guessed a man’s tongue could feel like fat slugs?  Well, she is saved from the vile man by John Parker-Roth, "Parks," to his friends.  He doesn’t inspire revulsion in her breast; in fact he inspires a somewhat different emotion entirely.  When the couple is discovered in an amorous clinch, Parks feels the need to propose.  Not quite the type of proposal Meg expected to get and since he is not the guilty party she turns him down flat.  It is just a shame that she cannot stop dreaming about his hands on her body or his mouth on hers.  John is having the same problem, and though he decides it is for the best that Meg turned him down, he still is harboring lustful thoughts about her.  With their families conspiring to bring the couple to the altar, it is one misadventure after another.  Tongues will be wagging with the wicked exploits of this thoroughly clueless couple.

THE NAKED series continues with the zany exploits of staid John Parker-Roth and Margaret Peterson as they stumble along on the road to romance.  Parks and Meg are priceless in their naiveté; they truly believe they are mismatched, while everyone else sees the attraction both try desperately to deny.  I laughed, I cried, and I enjoyed every moment of this fabulous love story.  The passion is explosive and the tension stays edgy whenever the protagonists share a scene.  The snappy dialogue is Mackenzie’s trademark, with witty thrusts and parries exchanged on all fronts.  The storyline kept me on my toes, wondering if the couple is going to make a success of it or not.  For a rousing good read you must not pass THE NAKED GENTLEMAN.  Sally Mackenzie is truly a must buy favorite for this reader.
