Clarinda Carfew fell in love with Ash when she was a young girl and had been shocked when he left her to make his fortune. Nothing she had done, no matter how much pleading or the fact that she had given him her virginity at the last moment before he left, could change his mind. Although she has tried to forget him, the scandal sheets publishing stories about him have made that impossible. Still, she dreams of the day he will return on his knees and how she will step over him and walk away. She recently became engaged to Ash’s brother, Max, and he paid for her ocean voyage, bringing her to him. During the trip, the ship was boarded by pirates and the women were captured to be sold at market. At the time, Clarinda had been clutching a scandal sheet containing a story about Ash. Subsequently, Clarinda had been sold to the sultan Zin al-Farouk.

Captain Sir Ashton ‘Ash’ Burke, the second son of an earl, has not been able to forget Clarinda, the girl he left behind ten years ago. Every woman he had been with since then reminded him of her. He had left to make his fortune, with the intentions of returning to her once that happened. His many exploits in those years have been embellished in various publications, making him something of a hero to some and scandalous to others. Finally, finding himself in front of a firing squad – not for the first time, he was shocked when Max came to his rescue. But then Max needed a favor. He wanted Ash to rescue his fiancée, agreeing to pay a fortune for this mission. But then Ash discovers that Max’s fiancée, whom he is to rescue, is none other than Clarinda. Looking into his brother’s face, he could tell that Max really loved her.

By the time that Ash arrived at the sultan’s palace, Clarinda had already been a captive for several months. His plan was to capture the sultan and exchange him for Clarinda. But those plans changed when they saw assassins riding towards the sultan. After they rescued the sultan from the five assassins, he welcomed them as guests in his home. Believing this could give them access to the palace so they could locate Clarinda, he had accepted. But almost as soon as they arrived, Clarinda had come sweeping out – even more beautiful than he remembered her. Thinking she was running to him, he had almost welcomed her into his arms. But she passed him and ran into the arms of the sultan, expressing concern at the attempt on his life. (None of her dreams of revenge had been as perfect as this scenario.) Now Ash has a dilemma. Should he rescue her for his brother, convince her she belongs to him or leave her to the sultan whom she seems to care so much about? If Max discovers what transpired in the meadow between Ash and Clarinda on the morning that Ash left home, will he still welcome her back into his arms?!

Absolutely delicious, THE PLEASURE OF YOUR KISS, the latest novel by New York Times best-selling author Teresa Medeiros, is a witty and sensual historical romance that grabs your attention from the very first sentence and doesn’t let go until the really delightful ending. Ms. Medeiros has long been one of my favorite authors. I love all of her books, and this one is no exception. I absolutely loved this story! It will have you laughing, crying and even blushing. Containing charming, well-drawn characters, humor, tender love scenes, sizzling hot situations, a sexy, exotic setting, fast-paced adventure, plot twists and surprises, this story is definitely a winner. Now I am eager to read Max’s story, which comes out later this year. THE PLEASURE OF YOUR KISS is a must read. Do not miss this enchanting romp that takes readers from a sultry sultan’s palace to the dazzling ballrooms of London.
