Outwardly Lord Edenstorm appears to be just another bored member of the Ton on a holiday in the country. However, he has a very important reason for coming to Cornwall; he is on a secret mission. He has been tasked with uncovering a smuggling ring that is aiding Napoleon by providing him with much needed gold to fund his campaign.

Miss Jane Darrow is content with her simple and quiet life as a ladies companion. When her employer and good friend Lydia is injured she prays that someone will come to their aid, however, their would-be rescuer is the last person Jane ever expected to see again. She is shocked and horrified to come face to face with Lord Edenstorm a man she is convinced has no soul.

At first, Edenstorm is sure his eyes must be deceiving him. This plain and unremarkable woman can not be his former intended. He was told that she died, drowned in the Irish Sea. He had even seen her grave. However, he is soon certain that she is not just plain Miss Darrow no matter how much she may deny her true identity.

SINS OF THE HEART by Delle Jacobs is a great read. This story has it all, a touching romance, an intriguing mystery and plenty of adventure. I loved this book. Jane’s story kept me glued to my seat. She is a strong and captivating heroine. Edenstorm can be high-handed at times but I found it easy to forgive him especially when it becomes clear why he acts the way he does.Their interactions are very amusing. I came to care about both these characters. The plot is creative and refreshing and the romance is sensual and believable. I highly recommend this novel and I will definitely look for more from this author in the future.
