Lady Mairi Dunwythie has been trained by her father to take over his estate upon his death.  With no heir in sight, she is also blocking the Maxwell Clan’s attempt to regain their control of the southern part of Scotland.  When Robert Maxwell meets Mairi, an instant attraction occurs only to be tempered when she learns of his demands.  Yet Robert has a plan to not only claim Mairi but use her to force her father’s hand.  However, he never expected to fall in love.  Now the two star-crossed lovers must find a way to be together without starting a clan war.

SEDUCED BY A ROGUE is a historical romance featuring intrigue and star crossed lovers.  I liked how Mairi and Robert were torn between their growing feelings for each other and their loyalties.  It showed me that they were family oriented and didn’t take their responsibilities lightly.  Although young in age, I don’t think they ever got to be carefree but together, they seemed to be able to be themselves if only for a while.  The politics are true to form in this particular era and Ms. Scott does a good job in mixing the clan dynamics without overwhelming the plot.  Overall, I found SEDUCED BY A ROGUE a good romance for any reader who enjoys a little history with their romance.
