But their attraction is scorching and visceral and moves both of them to new levels of passion, companionship, and friendship. With secrets and painful hurts in their past, Ruth and Garrick must make strides to reveal their inner pain, their dreams, and their hopes to each other but it builds slowly as the trust grows in their relationship. This is indeed the relationship of a wealthy patron and his mistress but it turns into so much more as love builds. And even at the beginning, Monica Burns makes it clear that there is a level playing field between these characters. Of course, outsides factors, villains, and lies throw in plenty of conflict between Ruth and Garrick, adding even more tension to this story.
PLEASURE ME is one of those rare and exquisite love stories that comes along once in awhile and just blows up the romance genre with a memorable book that is going to remain a reader favorite for years. Garrick and Ruth just have wonderful chemistry, a genuine enjoyment in each other’s company, and the magic of realizing they have found someone that they can be themselves around, flaws and all. This is the first Monica Burns title I have read but I am already on the lookout for her backlist. She made me smile, cry, laugh, and feel like I was part of the lives of her characters. PLEASURE ME engages on every level of the reader’s enjoyment: heart, mind, and soul. It is a lustrous romance!
