Simon sees through her rouse almost immediately but allows the deception to continue because there is something about her that captivates him. When he finally admits to knowing who she is and gives into his feelings the ember of lust blows into a full blown love affair that neither of them expected nor are sure they even want.
Amongst their budding affair Simon and Ivy have to find the mysterious stone which brought them together in the first place and fight to keep Ivy’s identity a secret!
This was a truly engaging romantic mystery that I will read again in the future. The characters are extremely likable and well developed. Ms. Chase gives the reader a window into the characters’ pasts that give dimension and depth to the characters that will make you laugh, cry and keep you engaged until the very last page. This is a fantastic addition to any historical romance reader’s collection. It should be noted this is the second book in the series but it can be read as a standalone novel.
