Captain David Reynolds is fighting on the North's side in the Civil War and has seen many good men die. He doesn't intend to be one of them, however. When he is shot during the battle at Mine Run, he thinks he has died and gone to heaven when he wakes to find a blond-haired angel caring for him. Only, she isn't an angel, she is a Southern belle who now must decide whether to hide him from, or turn him over to, the Confederate army. Jenny must make the decision whether to kill her own countrymen in order to rescue her near-death Captain. Torn between her growing love for the Yankee and her loyalty to the Southern cause, Jenny struggles to decide which to choose. Which will win out? Can there be a future for the enemy lovers caught in the War Between The States?

When you read MY ENEMY, MY LOVE, you will experience the brutality of the Civil War as if you yourself were in the midst of the fighting. Diane Wylie's debut novel is sure to take you on an emotional roller coaster ride, from the hauntingly realistic battle scenes to the tender love scenes between Jenny and David. If you enjoy Civil War era historical romances, this is one book that shouldn't be passed over. The secondary characters are interesting and round out the book. Diane Wylie is one of those up-and-coming authors we should keep our eye on. I look forward to the release of her next book, A REBEL'S HEART, sometime in 2005.
