It’s November 1905 and Dr.
Jonty Stewart has just accepted a fellowship at his Alma Mater St. Bride’s
College at
A few months later their
friendship is still going strong.
LESSONS IN LOVE is the
first novel in Charlie Cochrane’s CAMBRIDGE FELLOWS MYSTERY series. This novel
drew me in from the very beginning. The style of the writing is very authentic
for the time period in which the novel is set. The characters mannerisms and
speech patterns also feel very realistic. The mystery is absorbing. I found
myself reluctant to stop reading because I desperately wanted to know what
would happen next.
However, the most
intriguing aspect is the affect that the murders have on Jonty and Orlando. The
reasons behind the murders hit very close to home for the two men and causes
some interesting reactions. Jonty and Orlando are appealing and captivating
characters. They are very different and yet they both find what they need most
in one another. They are so cute together and their interactions often make me
smile.
There are several sequels
in the series I look forward to reading them.
