Justin Talbot, a well-known shooter, is partners with the local mayor. But he has seen Ace Moreland before and is attracted to her. After Ace nearly runs him over in her attempts to flee, the mayor tries to get him to give her back. However, Justin claims she is there to see him. Taking her to his place of business, he protects her. Spending time together, they begin to fall for each other, but Justin knows he must get her out of town to keep her safe. But when gunmen come to call, is it too late?
An exciting read, TALBOT’S ACE is an action-packed read filled with adventure that will keep you rapidly turning the pages to see what happens next. Author Diane Whiteside is a new author to me, but I cannot wait to read more of her works.

TO MATCH A THIEF by Maggie Robinson
Lucy Dellamar had been deserted by her fiancé several years ago. So when Lord Ferguson saw her working in her aunt’s milliner shop and asked her to be his mistress, she accepted. She stayed in his house on the exclusive Jane Street, aka Courtesan Court, an elite area where the most desirable courtesans reside. However, he never touched her, as he was having an affair with her butler. Things had been great for years as he clothed her in beautiful clothing…items he occasionally borrowed for his own use. But bad investments had changed things for them, and now she had resorted to stealing. Lucy was not a thief, and she did not like stealing from the women on Jane Street. Besides, they had begun to mistrust her, leaving her out of their weekly meetings, but after all, a girl had to eat.
Ex-pickpocket Sir Simon Keith came from primitive origins. Given a choice between jail and the Army, he had chosen the Army where he prospered. Through ingenuity, he became quite wealthy, even getting himself knighted. Finally, Simon returned home for one reason; the love of his life…Lucy Dallamar, only to find that she had died. Needing a wife with a pedigree, but figuring such a woman would be dull in bed, he decided to take a mistress. So he made an appointment to meet with Lord Ferguson to purchase his house on Jane Street. However, Simon is shocked to discover that the mistress that accompanies the house is Lucy, but she is angry that she has not heard from him in seven years. He is thrilled to see that she is still alive, but can he overcome her anger and win back the love she once held for him?
A titillating and humorous read, TO MATCH A THIEF is a story that I hated to see end. During their years apart, Simon has come up in the world while Lucy has lowered herself to becoming a man’s mistress…or so it seems. I am an avid fan of gifted author Maggie Robinson’s works, which is why I placed her on my auto-read list. The fact that she still remains on that list is proof of her phenomenal talent.

A KNACK FOR TROUBLE by Mia Marlowe
An Irish convict, Aidan Danaher is serving his time working as a groom for Commissioner Burke, thanks to his knack, his ability to compel the actions of others. After exchanging kisses with the commissioner’s daughter Rosalind, she invited him to her bedroom. However, he was only supposed to give her pleasure, not ruin her, but things got out of control.
Three years later, Aidan has inherited a title, Lord Stonemere. Although Rosalind’s maid found his button in her bedroom and tattled, Rosalind had never given away his identity. So her father had sent her to be raised by her great-aunt who is trying to arrange an honorable marriage for her. Seeing her again, Aidan desires to make her his, once and for all, although she seems set on marrying another member of society. But he can still see the desire in her eyes. Can he convince her to marry him without using his knack, or will he have to resort to ruining her first?
A sizzling tale, A KNACK FOR TROUBLE is a delightfully humorous and suspense-filled read that will keep you guessing. Although author Mia Marlowe is relatively new to me, I look forward to reading more of her works.

As the title suggests, the common thread running through all three stories in the anthology IMPROPER GENTLEMAN is that the hero in all of the stories is a gentleman who is considered not quite proper by society standards. Their stations in life are rather low in the beginning; a gunman, a pickpocket and an Irish convict. However, each one works, or inherits, his way up in life, becoming respectable enough to marry a member of the ton, though it will still take some doing to convince the more proper members of the ton. Brimming with humor, steamy love scenes, interesting plots, clever repartee, charismatic characters, romance and lots of love, IMPROPER GENTLEMEN, with contributions from three amazing authors, is a delightful way to escape your daily cares. Do not miss it!
