James isn’t at all happy with this latest development and even less pleased when Patience tells him that as his wife she is obligated to do as he bids but not required to enjoy it.  James wants his marriage bed to be a place they both find pleasure but obviously that isn’t going to happen unless something happens to radically change her attitude.  Fortunately his good friend, the Viscount Lambden, offers him an ingenious solution.  James figures it’s worth a try and so he provide Patience with ‘penny dreadfuls’ and has her select scenes which they will reenact.  The scenes she selects come as somewhat of a shock and James is delighted with the results – only there’s something still blocking Patience from acting on her own desires and James is determined to uncover the truth about her past and what led her to believe that carnal relations and physical desire are wrong.

 

HAVING PATIENCE is not just a remarkably hot story but it’s also extremely compelling.   Debra Glass allows readers great insight into Patience’s thoughts while still allowing the situation between her and James to remain the main focus.  It’s extremely easy to empathize with the characters’ positions and positively titillating to imagine each confrontation as it plays out.  I have to confess I felt my face flame more than once just reading about their interactions and yet there’s something so loving in the way they view each other that I’m almost envious.  Ms. Glass’ writing more than lived up to my expectations.  She exceeded them with HAVING PATIENCE and I’ll definitely be picking up copies of her other writings in the very near future.
