Simon Thorndike fifth Earl of Stratford is on his way to speak to the magistrate about his cousin’s murder.  When he opens the door he is shocked to find a filthy young woman standing on his doorstep demanding to see him. He is even more surprised to discover that Dani is the person who found his cousin’s body and she claims to have information he needs to hear.

 

Dani is glad she decided to come to the Duke’s home. She has never seen such a handsome man. The chance to spend more time with him and to be dry and warm is too good to pass up. However, what will happen if the Duke realizes she has no real information to give?

 

DUKE’S PROJECT by is an entertaining read that contains an intriguing mystery. Sharon Lanergan fills her novel with colorful descriptions of her characters. I particularly like the way Ms. Langergan describes the differences between the aristocracy and the poor in Regency England. Dani is a fun and vibrant heroine and Simon is a sweet and sexy hero. I loved how protective he is of Dani.
