Devil soon manages to gain Lizzie's trust and she tells him of her heartbreak over Lord Alec Knight. He is saddened for her and wants to prove that not all men are as cruel as Alec. They start falling in love but Aunt Augusta dies, and leaves part of her will to Lizzie which hurts Devil' s plans for revenge. He concocts a scheme to try to force Lizzie to wed him, but she escapes and he has to try a new tactic. He decides to woo Lizzie the old fashioned way, which turns out to be some of the sexiest and most romantic scenes in DEVIL TAKES A BRIDE. Unfortunately, as Lizzie and Devil fall more and more in love there are many obstacles in the way of their happiness, including Lord Alec, Augusta' s will, and the Horse and Chariot Club. It seems as if Lizzie' s happily-ever-after won't ever happen, but Gaelen Foley doesn't disappoint as she transports the reader to Regency England to witness Lizzie and Devil fall in love. DEVIL TAKES A BRIDE is the latest and definitely one of the best in Gaelen Foley's Knight Miscellany series. Lizzie' s story is one of suspense, revenge, heartbreak and true love. Just as Lizzie and Devil run the gamut of emotions, so will the reader. Though this book is a must have as part of the Knight series, it can be read alone too. The reader will eagerly be hoping for Devil's revenge as they discover the depths of his despair and hurt. It is through Lizzie' s love that he finds redemption and it is through Devil's love that Lizzie finally believes in herself and her worth. Fans of Gaelen Foley's stories will be very impressed with her latest offering as Lizzie and Devil are a great duo. |
