Patrick's LOVE FOR CHRISTMAS was quick paced but a lot was packed into such a short book - only sixty-six pages. Julianna and Phillip had immediate chemistry and a slight connection in the past although they had never officially met before. There was a beginning, a middle and an ending that tied up the loose ends and gave not only a happily ever after but closure as well. I only wish there could have been a few more pages or an epilogue to see the happily ever after come to fruition. The antics of Julianna's two small children was just the right balance. There was family, friends, secrets, romance and love and just the right touches of each. The dialogue was so descriptive I felt like I was there - feeling the cold, the snow and the wind and smelling the Christmas decorations with all the fresh greens.
LOVE FOR CHRISTMAS held my interest and I look forward to reading other books by Patrick. She's a new to me author but I already have several of her books on my TBR pile. Although the author doesn't say this is a series her book, FAMILY SCANDALS, tells the story of another Houghton sibling, Corinna, sister of Phillip. This book may help fill in some of the holes I found while reading LOVE FOR CHRISTMAS.
