Gabrial Huntsford is appalled at Madeline's audacity. What kind of woman is willing to sell herself like that?! Surely, she is not the innocent she claims to be. Gabrial wants no part of her lies, and is angered when he is the Runner chosen to be her bodyguard. That anger quickly takes a back burner when he notices that some of the men bidding on Madeline were suspects in his sister's murder many years ago. Since he was taken off the case, he sees this as the perfect opportunity to do his own investigating.
Gabrial has a few leads, but not much of anything. He wants justice for his sister more than anything and he refuses to give in so easily. Meanwhile, an attempt is made on Madeline's life, and that is something he just will not stand for. He suspects that Madeline is hiding things from him, and the mystery surrounding her is eating at him. Digging deeper could lead to a whole boatload of trouble for both Madeline and Gabrial, and they had better be prepared for the end results.
Author Anna Randol is a new-to-me author and is quickly becoming a favorite. I knew I had to get my hands on SINS OF THE VIRGIN as soon as it became available, after reading her riveting novella, A MOST WICKED SOLUTION. SINS OF THE VIRGIN is superbly written. Ms. Randol has created characters that are so different and unique all on their own. I instantly fell in love with Madeline and her strength. She has overcome much, and has still managed to lead a very eventful life despite it all. Gabrial is a dark and strong-willed man. He really touched my heart with his love for his family, and his dedication to catching his sister's murderer. I also came to care for the side characters, Clayton and Maddox, and I cannot wait to read their stories.
