When Jazz Lenox sees two red-haired children in the park during her jog, her heart stops. They could easily be the twins she gave up for adoption eight years ago. Of course, she knows it is silly to believe it is them and she has no evidence to prove otherwise, but her heart has been on a search for those twins ever since she let them go. But what turns into a scraped knee at the park leads her to meet Matt Caminetti. He is fascinated with Jazz and wants to get to know her better, but she rebuffs him at every turn. She cannot get too close to him for fear those small children, Robbie and Brooke, may be the children she once gave up for adoption. Then there is the other secret Jazz holds close. Something she cannot tell anyone for fear of more rejection and hurt in her life.

Darlene Gardner’s TWICE THE CHANCE hits all the right spots in romance. This is an engaging story of two people that are not a perfect fit initially, but find that they have much in common and a sweet yearning to connect with each other. Jazz has a lot of worries about her past and it is hard for her to forgive the mistakes she made when she was younger. Fortunately, Matt is more than willing to help her move forward. Matt, for all his wonderfulness however, does sometimes pressure Jazz to move forward quicker than she would like. Fortunately, he realizes this mistake in time before it becomes a bigger issue for their growing relationship. Add in the wonderful Caminetti family, Jazz’s work friends who have their own share of mistakes, plus a world of sports and the stage is set for a satisfying contemporary story. As always, Darlene Gardner writes a compelling romance.
