Then real life hits, and it hits hard. Struggling to balance part-time college classes, raising her three children, supporting her Bible-study friends through their own trials, and dealing with an over-achieving sister, it's no wonder Becky is feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. Then her husband loses his job and Becky learns she is being featured in a magazine article about Women of Vision. With only six months until then, Becky must try to regain control over her chaotic life in order to be the kind of woman needed for the article. Will she succeed in getting her life under control? Will Becky ever stop trying to be perfect and just be herself?
New author Sharon Hinck has arrived wearing her red cape to rescue all harried moms from their crazy lives and give them a bit of comic relief. This sometimes serious, sometimes silly look at the life of one woman who tries to do all and be all to everyone is sure to have moms out there nodding their heads in agreement of being just like Becky. I especially enjoyed Becky's fantasies at the beginning of each page before she is jolted back into the real world. While attempting to be 'Supermom', Becky learns that with God's help, there is satisfaction in just being 'Mom', no red cape required.
This is one of those books people will rave about, and demand to read 'more, more, more'! The good news is that a second Becky book is on its way, and I for one, can barely wait to read it! Look for RENOVATING BECKY MILLER coming soon; I have a feeling it will be just as interesting as this one.
