Ryan ‘Fig’ Figelstein, who works with computers, does not like to be around sick people or hospitals, due to some deep-seated fears of his own. But when his friend Kyle, a doctor, asks for his help, he cannot turn him down. Fortunately, he can do his computer work anywhere because Kyle wants him to work as a unit clerk temporarily. He will sit where he can keep an eye on the medicine cabinet and who goes in and out. He knows that Roxie is a suspect. He has already met Roxie and had been very attracted to her. Fig went so far as to make a date with her…but then he didn’t show up. So he knows she is angry with him now and is not looking forward to facing her again. But for her sake, he must make amends with her.
Despite being stood up by Fig, Roxie cannot deny her attraction to him. Finding that he had a good reason for his behavior, she gives him another chance. But when her heart gets involved, she begins to wonder if he will stick around when he discovers her secret, one she has kept hidden so far.
THE NURSE’S NOT-SO-SECRET SCANDAL, the third and unfortunately, the last book in talented author Wendy S. Marcus’ MADRIN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL series, is an intriguing, emotion-packed contemporary romance that kept me avidly turning the pages to see what would happen next. This book is definitely an attention grabber. The time spent reading it flew by as I became absorbed in the story, only putting it down when I reached the delectable ending. Brimming with complex characters, secrets, mystery, passion, wit, intrigue and romance, this beautifully written book has it all. Computer expert Fig and feisty nurse Roxie is a well matched couple and the chemistry between them is explosive. Unlike the heroes in many romance novels, Fig is not an alpha, but he is ideal for Roxie. Fans of this series are also reunited with Victoria and Kyle from the previous book, ONCE A GOOD GIRL. Although this story is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. But for additional entertainment, do not miss the other books in this series; WHEN ONE NIGHT ISN’T ENOUGH and ONCE A GOOD GIRL.
