Ashley Wilson is a mother and top researcher for a prestigious research facility.   She is currently working on a top secret project that will make human lives better.   However, things start going askew when Ashley notices some of her notes are missing.   She is scared and decides that it is time to contact Reese, the only man who has held her heart, and confront him about why she refused to marry him.   Ashley knows she must tell him the secret, but she was not prepared for the intense passion that still burns within her whenever Reese is near her.    Will Ashley renew her love for Reese?   Or will her secret destroy her hope of being with Reese forever?

Reese Caldwell is a successful rancher in Texas.   He has also inherited special powers from his ancestors of long ago.   Reese denies he has any special powers and is not willing to accept his heritage.   Reese is shocked when he gets a phone call from Ashley and is unsure of whether he really wants to see her.   But his heart will not be denied.   Reese swore he would never have a family again after suffering a horrible loss.   However, when he sees Ashley and her daughter, he discovers his heart will not be denied the love he craves.   Will Reese put his past away and open his heart to the only woman who can heal him?   Or will Ashley’s secret destroy any love he has left?

THE HORSEMAN’S HERITAGE is a beautifully written love story.   Jacki Bentley pens a plot packed with suspense, misunderstandings and tender passion.   This captivating tale had me reading throughout the night to see how the story would end.   I loved the touch of paranormal that Ms. Bentley added to the plot.   I laughed out loud, sobbed at the loss of love and sighed at the romantic ending.  

Ashley is a beautiful character who has taken it upon her shoulders to be successful and be a good parent to her child.   She is lonely, stubborn and strong-willed.   She will do anything to protect her child and the man she loves.  

Reese is sexy, passionate and obstinate.   His heart is broken after suffering a painful loss and he is not willing to risk having another family.   Yet he is head over heels for Ashley and must confront his fears to stay with the woman who has captured his heart.

I recommend THE HORSEMAN’S HERITAGE to all who enjoy a lovely romance.
