Mallery's JUST ONE KISS is a quick reading contemporary romance with another heartwarming story about the people in Fool's Gold. Although this is mainly Patience and Justice's story along with Ava (her mom) and Lillie (her daughter) it brought me back and reconnected me to many of the characters I've met in previous books and it wasn't just in passing. The characters feel like family and we are once again immersed in their lives including their happiness and their struggles. It caught me up on many of their lives and talked about their futures as well - weddings, births and falling in love. There was laughter, tears, romance and love, family, friends, community spirit, a festival and a little bit of darkness too. There were twists and turns to the storyline along with nice closure and a happily ever after that I was rooting for.
Susan Mallery is one of my very favorite authors. I interact with her on facebook, was a Fool's Gold Cheerleader last summer and hope to try out for this year's squad and actually got to name a character - Annabelle Weiss, the librarian - who had her story told last July in SUMMER NIGHTS, FOOL'S GOLD #8. There are at least two more books to the series that will also be out this summer but I personally hope the series will continue for many more years. To learn more about Fool's Gold go to the author's website at http://foolsgoldca.susanmallery.com/. You'll be so glad you did!
