Saxon's LOVING LYDIA had many undercurrents to the storyline. The epilogue gave me some of the much needed background story but not all the details as soon as I began reading. Knowing why Lydia was so skittish amongst others but especially men was important to the story. Sam was immediately attracted to her and knew he wanted a relationship with her so quickly but had to wait for Lydia to catch up and want the same thing. It was interesting to see their give and take and her one step forward, two steps back approach for her to reach her comfort level around him. Watching her grow and get comfortable with Sam and around others she didn't know while settling on the ranch - her sister Kate's home - was heartwarming. There was family, friends, flashbacks, sorrow, tears, frightening events, happiness, romance and ultimately love. The story had some unexpected twists and turns but ended up at the happily ever after I was hoping for even though not in the way I expected.
Saxon is a new author and I'm looking forward to Bill's story in book two, BAD GIRL BILL. If this is her caliber of writing I will be adding her to my TBR pile as her new books are released.
