It took a hard hit from a three hundred pound linebacker to land Ryan Sanderson back in his wife’s care ten days before their scheduled divorce. Football was his life, so much so that he’d nearly lost Susannah. But he was back now and willing to do whatever it takes to keep her…even if that meant kidnapping her and taking her to their cabin all the while blackmailing her to make her realize they will always belong together. It’s dirty tactics, but Ryan is desperate to do whatever is in his power to make her see that he’s a changed man, and he loves her more than anything on this earth.
Susannah Sanderson loves the peace in her life. Ever since she and Ryan decided to call it quits over a year ago, she’s been happy…or at least she thought so. Hulled up in their cabin for a couple of days alone with Ryan makes her see that the Ryan she knew has changed… drastically. Not only is he romantic and caring, he starts to give her the intimacy she begged him for during their marriage. She slowly realizes she’s still madly in love with him, a love that will never fade no matter how much time they spend apart.
But even as the past is dredged up and dealt with, the near future puts a hinder on their plans, as well. Susannah has a fiancé, a man that has been her childhood friend for more than half her life and he’s not willing to let Susannah go. Caught in a whirlwind of emotions and confusion, Susannah must decide what she really wants. Can Ryan truly prove he’s changed for good or will Susannah proceed with the divorce and move on with her life, a life without the legendary Ryan Sanderson?
LINE OF SCRIMMAGE is about getting a fresh start, a new beginning. Ryan and Susannah are clearly made for each other. I loved their interactions and conversations. Ms. Marie Force did an excellent job of putting the reader in her character’s shoes. The story is filled to the brim with characters you fall in love with, plot twists you’d never guess and plenty of action in between. LINE OF SCRIMMAGE is a fast-paced read that will warm you on the inside and make you believe everyone deserves a second chance for their happy ending.
