On his deathbed Jed Cassius’ father made a startling confession.  He admitted to being the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle that left Lyddie Rix developmentally disabled.  It is his final wish that Jed make amends to the Rix family and help provide for Lyddie.  Wanting to honor his father’s wishes, Jed confronts the family with the truth of what happened that horrific day.

Cheryl Rix, Lyddie’s mother, does not take the news well and refuses to accept any money from Jed.  However, Tamara, Lyddie’s sister, believes that the family should accept Jed’s goodwill gesture because he is only trying to compensate for his father’s mistake.  Jed hopes that he can enlist Tamara’s help in convincing her mother to reconsider her stance.

As Jed and Tamara start spending time with one another a deep affection blossoms between the two of them. But with a conflicted family standing in the way, does this budding romance stand a chance of survival?

I found Jed’s desire to right his father’s wrong very touching and my heart went out to him because Cheryl refused to accept his apology.  Tamara’s loyalty and devotion to Lyddie is so honorable and moving. Lyddie is a delightful character who brings life to the story with her antics.  The romance between Jed and Tamara is sweet and tender and I found myself enthusiastically  rooting for their happily-ever-after.

A unique and pleasurable tale, IS THIS LOVE? will warm your heart.  Sue Moorcroft has invented captivating and endearing characters that will stay with you long after you close the book. This is a gentle and emotional love story that shouldn’t be missed.  This is definitely one for the keeper shelf!
