Marmo's FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE is a quick reading contemporary romance mainly set in Scotland and filled with lots of adventures, great characters, vivid descriptions and a very well developed plot and storyline. Charlie and Liam had chemistry from the first time they met and it only got better the closer they became. There were many subplots that were tied up nicely by the end and many layers to the characters I came to know quite well. I couldn't help but like them. Each character played an important part and no one was introduced just to have another character in the story. The descriptions of the weather, the countryside, their travels, Charlie's apartment, Liam's house, the dress shop, the charity events, the pubs and other restaurants and the various stores made me feel that I was there so much so that I've added Scotland to a place I'd love to visit someday. There was friendship, romance, love, heartache, laughter, tears, job stresses, misunderstandings, jealousy and tension described beautifully. There were so many twists and turns as the various plots were exposed but all were tied together nicely. There was closure with several unexpected happily ever afters but I felt the storyline ended a little abruptly and would have benefitted from a few more chapters.
All in all I would highly recommend this book to all readers of contemporary romance. Marmo is an author that will be added to my to be read pile and I hope that she continues writing at such a high level.
