Rader's A TAYLOR-MADE LIFE introduced us immediately to the role cancer would play in the story line. While it could have been all darkness the author did not approach it that way. Knowing Taylor and Gavin were so right for each other on so many levels was heartwarming and brought tears to my eyes - the first of many. They could understand what each was going through since they both have cancer and received treatments for it. Watching them finally give in to their attraction was wonderful and seeing Gavin finally relent to having Taylor in his life more than as a friend was great to see. Their romance was like a fairy tale but based on reality. Seeing them each come to terms with their life expectancy and setbacks but make the most of every moment with each other along with their family and friends was spectacular. There were so many troubles thrown their way - their health, Gavin's business problems, Gavin's lack of family ties - but it only made them stronger and solidified their union. Following them in their day to day lives was often heartbreaking but many times very rewarding. Having Taylor's parents embrace Gavin and treat him like their son was refreshing. I laughed, cried, sobbed but throughout the emotions being wrought in me - their love for each other shone through. I could not have asked for a better ending after the heartache endured and it gave immediate closure. I could not put the book down until I turned the last page.
Rader is a new to me author but you can be sure I'll be looking for her other books to add to my ever growing and oft times toppling TBR pile! I was thrilled to see this is a series and book two, A TAYLOR-MADE LOVE is currently a work in progress. I look forward to reuniting with Taylor, her parents and Aaron along with others we met in book one.
