I have been a reader of romance since the sixth grade.  In the old days, the selection was pretty narrow between historical and contemporary.  I went to ASU and completed a degree in English Literature, and promptly became a hotel manager for Marriott.  After 8 years as a hotel manager, I realized that my passion was still with literature.  I went back to school, and, sadly, had to stop reading for pleasure.  The life of a grad student in the literature department leaves no time for pleasure reading.  But…there was a light at the end of that bleak tunnel.  Last summer (when I should have been writing my Master’s Thesis), I was introduced to the world of the Quest Books.  A friend of mine had published 3 (now 5) books in a series of 20+ books that she has written.  I voraciously read all 20+ and never looked back.  Then, she introduced me to J.R. Ward.  My love of romance was instantly rekindled.  In my absence from the world of romance, great new genres emerged.  I am now totally hooked on the paranormal and fantasy that wasn’t around in my early reading years.

I am happy to say that last week I finished my Master’s Degree in English Literature at ASU.  My field of study is drama of the early modern period (basically the Renaissance).  I would love to use my degree to be an editor, but I don’t think I can handle a move to New York.  So, for now, I am exploring other options.

I live a wonderful life with my husband, two rottweilers and a cat.  My husband works a ridiculous amount of hours at his dream job leaving me many solitary hours with which to read myself silly.  It’s a match made in heaven.  I was lucky enough to land myself with a life partner who also loves to read, so there is none of that non-reader jealousy of my time with my books.  Hopefully, my love of books is evident in all my reviews.
